Llamas and Packs and SPRING!
It is so fun to talk to other llama owners around the world. Packing with llamas has been very popular in parts of the United Kingdom for a number of years. Since the climate here on Larch Mt. is so like that of the Scottish and English countrysides, we like the idea of using our herd for camping/hiking. Just outside the back of our yard, lies 15,000 acres of state owned land--much of which was logged 6 years ago (very ugly). HOWEVER! The changes coming to the area are vast and lovely. There are new trees coming up all over, and wildflowers aplenty. The hiking is pretty easy, for most, and streams flow about 2 miles up. A nice change from the city... You can hike or mountain bike as far as 22 miles to the 'main road' or as little as 2.5 miles to spread a nice picnic lunch and enjoy the sights. COMING SOON! Guest Quarters at Glory Ridge Farm! We have separate guest quarters for a family of 4, with a private master bedroom, full bath and efficiency kitchen. These should be available by Mid-Summer of 2009. An addition of an exterior entrance and private deck is also upcoming for late in 2009.
